Hanoi Rocks was formed in Helsinki in 1980 by Michael Monroe (Matti Fagerholm) and his friend, guitarist Andy McCoy (Antti Hulkko). In my opinion the strongest Hanoi album is the third one (Self Destruction Blues) which ironically contains some random singles and B-sides. If I remember correctly it was Izzy who initially was a fan of Hanoi Rocks and made the other GnR guys listen their records. There isn't much in common musically between GnR and Hanoi Rocks.
